Hello! My name is Jake García, and welcome to my site. I’m a multimedia and multilingual sports broadcast journalist for Cronkite News and Arizona PBS.

I’ve served as a multimedia reporter and host for SunDevilSource.com (a Scout.com affiliate) in its coverage of ASU football, as well as a play-by-play broadcaster for the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League.

I was formerly the president and executive editor of the Walter Cronkite Sports Network — a sports broadcasting club that is the largest student-run organization on campus. During my time with Cronkite Sports, I redesigned and monetized the website, and worked as an anchor for Cronkite Sports Live.

These efforts culminated in a ranking of No. 10 by the Sportscasters Talent Agency of America in the Jim Nantz Award.

My other background is in baseball statistics and analytics. I work talent and official stats for Major League Baseball games on Time Warner and Comcast, as well as for ASU baseball and softball on the Pac-12 Network, FOX and ESPNU. My thesis paper was on the evolution of stats and data in professional baseball.

In three years, I graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State with a Bachelor’s and honors degree. I graduated with summa cum laude honors, ranked third in my class and was named an Outstanding Undergraduate Student. I will be completing a Master’s degree in mass communication in May of 2017.
